This is just a few of the things that we ponder:
- Why does the power go off for no reason?
- Why do geckos poop so much?
- Why are some pigs allowed to roam freely & some are tied up?
- How do the locals know which free-roaming chickens are theirs?
- Why is the common 'greeting' here "adios"?
- Where do frogs go during the day? At night, why do frogs seem to prefer sitting on tile floor & not in soft grass?
- Why do clothes never seem to get 100% dry - actually I know the answer - HUMIDITY,
- How can we sweat so much when all we are doing is standing still?
- Why do roosters start crowing at midnight?
- Why did the 2 gringos cross the road? (ha-ha - just kidding)
We actually love being here, even with the difficulties!
Where else can this happen: When we walking down the road a man asked us "Do you want to buy a chicken?" Well, we said "no gracias" - we could not imagine ringing it's neck and plucking the feathers, etc... - life here is very basic yet interesting - si.
20 questions...can I play?
ReplyDelete-No power...someone is messing with the gringos
-Perhaps the bugs go through a gecko like iced tea goes through me
-"Adios" is like "Aloha" maybe
-Frog go to their "pad" during the day...duh. I'll bet they have AC too. And grass tickles the tummy; don't believe me just give it a try.
-Clothes don't get dry has something to do with the rotation of the earth being slower doesn't it?
-Horses sweat, men perspire, and women glow...you glow girl!
-Those roosters must have come over with the Spanish and are still set to sunrise in Spain
-I don't know about gringos crossing the road but I do know two gringos who crossed a continent to share the love of Jesus. I'm praying for you both. Besides new difficulties and challenges make for interesting stories!
Love you both, Marshelle
I love this post Liz and I look forward to seeing you soon! We are all praying for you!
